Wakefield, Howard

Graphic designer Howard Wakefield is the Creative Director of the design studio Colour + Form, which he established in 2013.

Wakefield studied at Lincoln College of Art and Design from 1987-1989, followed by further studies at Salisbury College of Art and Design between 1989 and 1991.

He worked with Peter Saville at Pentagram Design from 1991-1993. He moved to Sonicon in 1993 followed by Thomas Manss & Company in 1994. He rejoined Saville in 1995 as a designer at Peter Saville Studio, where he worked on sleeve designs for the record label Factory Too, and became Design Director of Saville Associates Ltd in 2002. He continued at Design Director when the studio became Saville Parris Wakefield in 2006. After Saville left the studio in 2009, Wakefield became Creative Director of the renamed Studio Parris Wakefield. Wakefield has also worked as a creative consultant for other design studios and in 2019 led on the design for the box set accompanying Warner Music UK's co-produced exhibition Use Hearing Protection.
