BARIC Computing Services Limited

BARIC Computing Services Ltd was formed in 1968 as a joint venture between International Computer Services Limited, which was part of international Computers Limited, and Barclays Bank. This was established to provide computer services to companies that were unwilling to invest in the equipment and specialists that were required for early computers. It operated two ICL 1900 mainframes from its London head office, which also housed their management, sales, support staff and programming teams, and also had further sites in Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cork, Dublin, Glasgow, Stoke-on-Trent, Leeds and Manchester. In 1985 the company was acquired by Computer Management Group (CMG).
