Dextralog Ltd

Dextralog Ltd is known to have been in existence from 1973-1983. The company manufactured the first textile monitoring production software to be used in the UK, known as Dextralog. The software was developed in Manchester and used in textile mills across the North West of England. The software could be programmed to monitor production across a number of areas.

The company became part of the TDS Group around 1985, changing its name to TDS Dextralog Ltd. Between 1986 and 1990, TDS Dextralog Ltd was involved in a European Commission project to develop, implement and integrate advanced control system techniques to improve the control of manufacturing systems for small-batch production machined parts at the machine and cell level.

In around 1990, the company became part of the Belgian Barco group, becoming known as Barco Dextralog Ltd. The company subsequently became part of BarcoVision Ltd, which now trades as BMSVision Ltd and is based in Blackburn, Lancashire.
