Reginald Moseley, known as Rex, was the fourth son of Joseph Moseley and a grandson of David Moseley, the founder of David Moseley & Sons.

Rex Moseley studied at Oxford University before joining the family business. By 1939 he had become the director of the company and lived in Anglesey, Wales.
