The American Nuclear Society (ANS) is a international, not-for-profit organisation of individual members. It was formed in 1954 at a time of growing interest around nuclear science and technology. Its 2020 membership was approximately 10,000 from over 40 countries. It is made up of scientists, engineers, and industry professionals.

Its organisational structure is made up of a board of directors, an executive committee, and various other standing and special committees.
