Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory

Los Alamos National Laboratory (Los Alamos or LANL) was established in 1943 and is a research and deveopment laboratory in the United States of America. It is best known for its role in helping develop the worlds first atomic bomb.

Los Alamos is closely affiliated with the University of California, Berkeley and their nuclear research facility, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL).

Today, Los Alamos conducts multidisciplinary research on national security, space exploration, nuclear fusion, renewable energy, medicine, nanotechnology, and supercomputing.

Lanl is privately managed and operated by Triad National Secuirty, while it is still owned by the US government.

It is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico, United States.
