Brighton Hove and Worthing Gas Company

The Brighton Hove and Worthing Gas Company was formed in 1931 when the Brighton and Hove General Gas Company acquired the Worthing Gas Company. In 1934 it also acquired the Littlehampton Company.

During the Second World War the company's facilities suffered from German bombing and following the conflict it was nationalised under the 1948 Gas Act, becoming part of the South Eastern Gas Board.
