South Corporation Industrial Day School

South Corporation Industrial Day School was established by the Liverpool School Board in 1878 as its first technical education institution. It initially had the capability of accommodating 300 children and by 1881 there were 250 registered as attending it. A report in 1896 described the accommodation as inadequate, especially its recreation and washing facilities. In 1908 it moved to a new building and this was used during the First World War as a kitchen to supply local people during shortages. The school closed on 11th August 1922.
