American Institute of Instruction

The American Institute of Instruction was an educational organisation which existed between 1830 and 1906. The president of Brown University at the time of its founding, Francis Wayland, was the Institute’s first president. The Institute regularly met to listen to papers and reports on, and discuss, issues surrounding education.
