k. k. Staats-Gewerbeschule in Wien

In 1846 the 'Commercial Drawing School (Gewerblichen Zeichenschule) was founded. In 1870 it changed it name to the Imperial and Royal Building and Machine Trade School (Kk Bau- und Maschinengewerbeschule), the first commercial middle school in Austria and forerunner of the later state trade schools. It changed its name again in 1880 to the Imperial and Royal State trade school in Vienna kk Staats-Gewerbeschule in Wien). This name lasted until 1923 when t changed to the "Technical-Commercial Federal College' (Technisch-gewerbliche Bundeslehranstalt).
