Cornell University
Cornell University, founded in 1865, is a private statutory land-grant Ivy-League research university situated in Ithaca, New York. It was founded by Ezra Cornell and Andrew Dickson White with the aims of educating across all subjects and disciplines, an aim that was unconventional for the time. The university is structured into seven undergraduate colleges and seven graduate divisions on its Ithaca campus (the campus spanning 745 acres), whilst also maintaining campuses in New York City and Qatar. Since its founding the university has been co-educational and non-sectarian. The university is frequently placed in the Top 20 of global higher education institutions rankings.
