Staatsministerium des Innern für Kirchen- und Schul- Angelegenheiten

The Staatsministerium des Innern für Kirchen- und Schulangelegenheiten (State Ministry of the Interior for Church and School Affairs) was created by Ludwig I of Bavaria on 27 February 1847. Its responsibility was to oversee “all subjects of education, teaching, moral, intellectual and artistic education and the institutions that exist for this purpose”. After the Ministry of Commerce was dissolved in 1871, the Ministry of Culture also managed technical and agricultural education.
