The Carborundum Company was the British subsidiary of the American company Carborundum. The British company set up a works in Trafford Park around the beginning of the 20th century. It exhibited a variety of abrasive and sharpening tools at the Olympia Machinery Exhibition in 1907. The company continued to manufacture and trade from the site until around 2013 when it was closed down, as a result of continued losses.
