Scuola Superiore d'Arte applicata all'industria

The Higher School of Art Applied to Industry was founded in Milan in 1882 and had been proposed by the Italian Industrial Assocaiton. Its aim was to train skilled workers in the applied arts, and not just in traditional craftsmanship but above all in the skills needed for the industrial production of consumer goods. Its first headquarters in 1882 were located in the building that housed the "Museum of Industrial Art", founded in 1878 by the aforementioned Italian Industrial Association in the pavilion of the Public Gardens of Corso Venezia in Milan where the Historical Exhibition of Industrial Art was held in 1874. It has since moved twice and still exists.
