File is comprised of three bundles of correspondence, meeting papers, printed three-year strategy, and other printed materials relating to the organisation of Alliance Against Road-building (ALARM) and its key activities. Bundle one contains two letters produced by Stephen Joseph on behalf of Transport 2000 to government officials, which discuss positions on the roads review and integrated transport policy (1997). Bundle two contains letters from a freelance journalist and environmental anti-roads group leaders relating to a 1994 defamatory Sunday Time article 'Green guerrillas booby-trap sites' and and a three-year strategy outline for ALARM UK produced by ALARM UK (1993-1994). Bundle three contains letters from Transport 2000, Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions, the High Wycombe Society, Council for the Protection of Rural England, and others, minutes from the roads review steering group, a draft consultation copy of the report Roads Review Case Studies (1994-1997), which discuss the case studies, demand scenarios, options and problems associated with roads reviews, and Bingley road campaigning.
