Leathers Company (Altrincham) Ltd

The Leathers Company (Altrincham) Ltd was established in 1883 by W. A. Entwistle, growing out of his previous company, W. A. Entwistle & Co.

In 1914 the 'Who's Who in Business' directory listed the directors as W. A. Entwistle (senior), (Managing Director), and W. E. Entwistle (junior) (Secretary). Company products included Entwistle's Oilless Trolley Wheel Bushes, for use on Electric Tramway Cars, and they claimed to be 'specialists in the Manufacture of Hydraulic Leathers.' The business also sold leather for hydraulic purposes.

The company won various awards, including Gold Medal, Paris, 1885 and Silver Medal, Paris, 1885 for their products.
