1884-1932, Electrical and mechanical engineer, Manchester

Formed in 1884 as Royce Limited. Registered on 4 June 1891, as F. H. Royce and Co, to take over the business of electrical and mechanical engineers of the firm of the same name. It became a limited company in 1894.

In 1904, the company manufactured their first car, and in 1906, Henry Royce and Charles Rolls form Rolls Royce Limited. Royce Ltd was acquired by Herbert Morris of Loughborough in 1932.
