Felt and Tarrant Manufacturing Co
Dorr Eugene Felt established the Felt and Tarrant Manufacturing Co with his business partner Robert Tarrant in Chicago in 1889.
Felt had patented the first practical and commercially successful adding machine in 1887, and had begun production of comptometers in 1888.
During the 1920s, a British subsidiary company was established, known as Felt and Tarrant Ltd.
In 1957, Felt and Tarrant Manufacturing Co changed its name to Comptometer Corporation.
