Pierre-Jules Cavelier was a French academic sculptor. Born in Paris he was a student of David d'Angers and Paul Delaroche.

He won the Prix de Rome in 1842 with a plaster status of Diomedes Entering the Palladium.

He became a Professor at École des Beaux-Arts in 1864.
