Photographer, artist and enameller noted for photoceramics, Alexander Lamont Henderson born Edinburgh 19 August 1838; worked with Chemist brother in Mussleburgh producing collodion from 1851; patented photomechanical printing process in 1876 and sensitizing plate in 1885; began producing photoceramics in 1876, gaining Royal Warrant as photo enameller in 1884; studio at 49 King William Street, London Bridge, 1860 to 1887; also enamelling studio at 2 Devonshire Place, Amersham Road, New Cross, Deptford, 1864 to 1873; and studio at 3 Amersham Road, New Cross, Deptford, 1873 to 1887; retired to Ponder's End in 1901, died at health spa in Bad-Nauheim, Germany in 1907.
