1873 William Martindale (1840-1902) took over the business Hopkins and Williams in New Cavendish Street London; 1902 taken over by his son William Harrision Martindale (1874-1932); 1933 acquired by Savory and Moore Ltd and continued trading as W. Martindale until the 1970s; 1947 manufacturing side of the business became William Martindale Limited and the name changed in 1963 to Martindale Samoore Ltd; 1967 - Savory and Moore Ltd acquired by Macarthays Ltd and cease to trade in their own right; 1968 - Mccarthays limited became Macarthays Laboratories Ltd and changed again to Martindale Pharmaceuticals Limited
