Beral, Rue de la Paix; 1832 - returned to London, purchased John Scott's dispensing chemist's shop, 277 Oxford Street, London; ; c. 1832 - traded from 277 Oxford Street, at corner of Duke Street; shop was later renumbered 413 Oxford Street; 1846 - made an anaesthetic inhaler for Robert Liston; 1837 - chemist by appointment to Queen Victoria; published a Companion Pharmacopoeia which ran to nineteen editions, and specialist pharmacopoeias for the London hospitals; most successful patent medicine was Squire’s Extract; Made medicine chests and supplied contents; 1870-1872 - shopfront rebuilt and shop renumbered?;
