1759 - first known record of Joseph Fry (senior) selling chocolate from his apothocary shop. 1761 - in partnership with John Vaughan, Joseph Fry (senior) purchased the chocolate business of Walter Churchman renaming it Fry, Vaughan & Co. 1822 - on the death of his mother, Joseph Storr Fry, along with his sons, operated as J.S. Fry and Sons. 1919 - merged with Cadbury but continued to operate under the same name. 1981 - The Fry name disappears from most products. 2011 - company finally dissolved.
