1887 founded; 1891 - began shipbuilding, building tugs, coastal passenger ships, dredgers, cargo ships, and a few destroyers; 1916 - Bethlehem Steel bought the shipyard and renamed it Bethlehem Sparrows Point Shipyard. It serviced and repaired ships and manufactured industrial products.

1997 - shipyard was sold to Baltimore Marine Industries Inc. (BMI); 2004 - sold to the Sparrows Point Shipyard and Industrial Complex.
