Sharp Corporation


Sharp Corporation founded Tokyo 1912 by Tokuji Hayakawa, at first manufacturing belt buckles, then the 'Ever-Sharp' mechanical pencil (invented 1915) from which the company gets it's name; began manufacturing radios in 1925, television receivers in 1963; core technologies and products include LCD panels, solar panels, mobile phones, audio-visual entertainment equipment, video projectors, Multi-Function Printing Devices, microwave ovens, cash registers, CMOS and CCD sensors, and flash memory; first commercial camera phone made by Sharp for the Japanese market in November 2000.
