BSkyB formed in November 1990 from merger of Sky Television and British Satellite Broadcasting (BSB); It produces television content, and owns several television broadcast channels. BSkyB is the United Kingdom's largest pay TV provider. More than a third of the company's equity is owned by News Corporation, an American company chaired by Rupert Murdoch. Owns 100% of satellite receiver manufacture Amstrad plc.
