The Northern and Eastern Counties Railway Company connected the towns of Cheshunt, Broxbourne and Waltham Cross. Authorised in The Act of 1836 to build a 5 foot gauge railway but it was converted to standard gauge when it was taken over by the Eastern Counties Railway in 1844.
