Weekly periodical established in Bolt Court, London, by Theodore Hook in 1820. The periodical was published until at least 1828. And at the turn of the century the magazine was being published. Horatio Bottomley became publisher in 1906. In 1920, the company was merged into Odham's Press. The magazine was in print in 1931, 1939 and 1944. Published by Odhams Press from the late 1940s to the early 1960s. Copyright is now held by the advertising archives. During its run it incorporated other magazines such as The Illustrated, Passing Show, News Review and Everybody's Weekly. Closed around 1962 but soon after the New John Bull Magazine was launched.
