Whilst in Jerusalem, was converted from being a prostitute to a Saint. Surviving on three loaves of bread, dates and cherries, she became a hermit living in the desert for the remainder of her life. A lion assisted with her burial. Known informally as 'Mary Gypsy', her emblems are three loaves and a lion.
