Moved back to England with parents shortly after he was born; began work as graphic artist for Lever Brothers in 1930s; served with Royal Marines during second world war; worked as background artist for W M Larkins Studio in 1950; 1954 formed production company Biographic Films with Keith Learner and Jeff Hale, producing televison, advertising and public relations material; 1965 formed Bob Godfrey's Movie Emporium, later shortened to Bob Godfrey Films; perhaps best known for short animated cartoon series best known for animated television series 'Rhoobarb and Custard' (1975), 'Noah and Nelly in SkylArk' (1979) and 'Henry's Cat' (1983).
