Founded in 1931, as a subsidiary of the Rock Island Bridge and Iron Works in Rock Island, Illinois, the True-Vue company produced and marketed stereo filmstrips and viewers. Using 35mm film strips, True-Vue was able to re-inspire enough public interest in stereo views to achieve considerable commercial success and mass distribution. The company were eventually bought out by Sawyers - the manufacturer of True-Vue's rival, View-Master.
