1948-1962 - Brewer worked at the Subdepartment of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics, University of Oxford. 1959 - Brewer and James Milford developed the Oxford-Kew ozone sonde. They then developed this to designing the Brewer-Mast sonde.
