Portable gramophone 'Decca Dulcimer' patented in 1914 by musical instrument makers Barnett Samuel and Sons; company renamed The Decca Gramophone Co. Ltd. in 1928 and musical instrument part of company sold off; Decca Gramophone then sold to founder of Decca Records Edward Lewis in 1929 (see Decca Records Ltd); 1932 began radio production; worked on development of Decca Navigator during second world war (NOTE there appears to be overlap in production of radios between Decca Gramophone and Decca Radio and Television).
