1825 - Johan Herman Öhman established a factory for the production of porcelain. 1839 - anchor mark used. Gustavsberg have manufactured domestic porcelain and decorative goods. 1920 - began manufacture of taps as Vårgårda Armatur. 1939 - new factory manufacturing sanitary ware such as toilets and wash basins. 1947 - manufacture of baths. 1993 - manufacture of baths moved to partner company Bette GmbH in Germany. 1987 - Gustavsberg purchased Vårgårda Armatur. 1991 - Gustavsberg purchase Koralle (shower makers). 1994 - Gustavsberg sold to Dutch company NV Koninklijke Sphinx. 2000 - Villeroy & Boch AG buy AB Gustavsberg from Sanitec (IFÖ and IDO in Scandinavia), including subsidiaries Gustavsberg VVS AB, Gustavsberg Vårgårda Armatur AB. Villeroy & Boch was formed in 1748.
