Studied physics and chemistry in Paris; became interested in daguerreotypes and opened a portrait studio in Paris; Dagron was granted the first microfilm patent in 1859; Dagron is also considered the inventor of the miniature photographic jewels (Bijoux photographiques microscopiques) known as Stanhopes.
