Founded 1937 by Philip C Smethurst, photographer/scientist; based at 420 Chorley New Road, Bolton, Lancashire, in 1978; currently (2009) registered at 5 Lakeside Business Park, Swan Lake, Sandhurst, Berkshire; manufacture of lens, light meters, graticules and other photographic equipment. Donor to Kodak Collection in 1978.
