1987 - Founded by Doctors Kjell Bertheussen and Nicolai Holst, and Jens U. Holst. This followed Bertheussen - Professor of biochemistry at Norway's Tromsø University - pioneered Synthetic Serum Replacement (SSRTM) principle for media production, as used in In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) treatments. 1987 - the company is also established as a Danish entity. 1998 - MediCult moves to new larger facilities in Jyllinge, outside Copenhagen, Denmark.
