1886 - The Company is founded by Carl Paul Goerz, Berlin Germany.

1889 - C.P. Goerz American Optical Company is established, in New York City, as a U.S. subsidiary of the German Goerz company (Optische Anstalt C.P. Goerz).

1926 - German firm merges with Contessa-Nettel, Ernemann and ICA to form Zeiss-Ikon.

1972 - Goerz American Optical Company merges with Schneider Optics.
