George James Rowe was a Victorian landscape artist living in Woodbridge and London. Specialising in topographical scenes of Suffolk and London, he adopted a style influenced by the greats of the British romantic landscape tradition: Gainsborough (1727 – 1788), Constable (1776 – 1837) and Turner (1775 – 1851). Rowe was a member of the British Institution and the Royal Society of British Artists.
