Manufacturer of scuba, spear fishing and underwater equipment; founded 1935 as toy manufacturer; company expanded by Vilarubbis brothers in 1942 to produce scuba and underwater swimming equipment; company incorporated in 1945; began selling diving equipment in the United States in 1949, in partnership from about 1959 with the Seamless Rubber Company of Connecticut; German company Metzler acquired the company in the 1980s; Nemrod relocated to the United States and continued to make regulator valves until ceased trading in 2000.
