1880 - Founded by George Woodcock: solicitor, who purchases Daniel Rudge's Wolverhampton business, and amalgamates it with the Tangent and Coventry Tricycle Co. Woodcock relocates the combined business to Ariel Works, Trafalgar Street, Coventry.
1887 - D Rudge & Co., is acquired by a public company: Rudge Cycle Co.
1894 - Rudge Cycle Co is merged with the Whitworth Cycle Co to form Rudge-Whitworth.
