1841 - moved to Naples to commence studies in the Humanities. 1844 - composed his first musical work, The Jailer of 1793, to a libretto by Domenico Bolognese. 1855 - published first printed caricature in an Italian pictorial publication named Omnibus. 1870s - produced caricatures for Vanity Fair in London.
