1818 - Henry Fisher had established his own Caxton Press in Liverpool, and a number of maps, engraved by J. H. Franks and W. Swann, appeared with the imprint: ‘Henry Fisher, Caxton, Liverpool.’ 1821 - the Caxton Press at Liverpool was destroyed by fire, causing Fisher to move to London. 1823 - the publication of an anonymous map of the States of America by ‘Henry Fisher, Caxton, London’ signalled the establishment of a new Caxton Press at Angel Street, St. Martin-le-Grand. 1825 - Fisher’s son, Robert, became a partner as recorded in the new imprint, ‘Fisher, Son & Co, London’ on an anonymous map of Africa, published in that year in the same style as the American map.
