Platt Delascus Babbitt, born Lanesboro Massechusetts; photographer and daguerreotypist, taking ambrotypes, daguerreotypes and stereo views; had photographers studio at Ridout Street, London, Ontario, latter itinerant photographer around Niagara, before setting up studio at Niagara Falls, NY, 1853; controlled lucrative pavilion area in front of Point View, later Prospect Point, on the American side of Niagara Falls; renowned for his tenacious hold on this prime concession; committed suicide 1879.
