1928 - Cochrane and Sons Limited of Selby, Yorkshire, build a steam trawler and then go bankrupt before its completion. Colby Cubbin (millionaire), buys the vessel and converts her to a steam yacht. Cubbin's will was that she should be used as a training ship either floating or as a wreck. 1970 - the Glen Strathallan is sunk near the entrance to Plymouth Sound. Just prior to her sinking, her triple-expansion steam engine is removed by Clifton Slipways Ltd., of Gravesend, Kent. This removal is for acquisiton by the Science Museum.
