Hugyfot was established by René Hugenschmidt who began making underwater housings for cameras in 1953. These housings serve the needs of professional and keen amateur photographers and videographers.

The company began in Switzerland, had production in Germany and then moved all activities to Erembodegem, Belgium in 2003. UK distribution is based in Sheffield.
