1929 - Sir James Martin and Captain Valentine Baker found the Martin-Baker Aircraft Company, as an aircraft prototype manufacturer. 1942 - Captain Valentine Baker is killed during a test flight of a 'MB-3' prototype aircraft. Following that, James Martin concentrates on pilot safety. c.1944 - the Martin-Baker ejection seat was created. 1966 - the company is incorporated into Martin-Baker Aircraft Company Limited.
