1925 - Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company commences business. 1929 - Pratt & Whitney Aircraft was merged with Boeing and other companies to form the United Aircraft Corporation, with a Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Division. 1975 - the United Aircraft Corporation became the United Technologies Corporation. Pratt & Whitney is now a subsidiary of the United Technologies Corporation.
