APE-Crossley Limited 1968 - 1981

APE-Crossley Ltd was the new registered name for Crossley Brothers Ltd. The new company was created when Crossley Brothers Ltd joined the Amalgamated Power Engineering Group in 1968, along with former subsidiary Crossley Premier Engines Ltd as part of APE Group’s acquisition of Bellis and Morcom. The company continued to manufacture engines at the Crossley Brothers works in Pottery Lane, Openshaw, Manchester. When Northern Engineering Industries of Newcastle took over APE Group in 1981, APE-Crossley became NEI-Allen Ltd-Crossley Engines.
