1863 - launched from Blackwall. 1865 - completed for experimental service. 1867 - commissioned. 1873-1875 - served as flagship of the Channel Squadron. 1868 - nearly sank H.M.S. Bellerphon in a collision. 1887 - decommissioned. 1893 - placed back in service as a harbour training ship at Portland. 1904 - renamed Boscawen II. 1905 - served as a training ship at Harwich. 1906 - renamed Ganges. 1908 - renamed Ganges II. 1922 - sold for scrap.
